Brandon Hines was brought to my attention today and I am thoroughly impressed.  Usually, when I get links of music artists, I listen and I'm like, "eh."  The amount of talent out there makes it hard to find the diamonds in the rough.  The kid has skills.  I listened to the other songs (embeded below) and I see nothing but hot music coming from this singer and a future of success.

Titled "Death Before Dishonor", this is sure to get more buzz rolling his way. However, it also sounds like he's taking a few shots at the self-proclaimed BOSS. We'll let you decide.. Scott Pilgrim vs. The Expendables? Decisions, Decisions ... [Movies]

VS

This is a battle my inner child has been waiting to see.  Testosterone overload or gamer shenanigans.  Guns, Guns, Guns or Fun, Fun, Fun.  A movie that has all the heroes of action from past and present or one that is a comic book/video game come to life.  I'm movie hopping, sorry, this has to be done, I doubt I'll get a chance to see both of them if I don't and I don't want to wait for either on video.  But, what if I had to make a choice, right now, this moment... Like my wife were to say, 

"Baby, pick one or we're going to watch, Eat, Pray, Love"

Expendables

Although, I'm impressed with all that I've seen with Scott Pilgrim, deep down... In my heart (Best cry ever reference) ... I've been waiting for this movie.  I don't know if ya'll remember, Last Action Hero with Arnold Schwarzenegger, there was this scene where the kid is trying to convince Arnold he's a movie star.  He take him to a video store and what do they see... Just watch the clip.

As a kid I thought that was gonna be as close as we get to seeing them working together on screen.  Now, I know the Gov'ner ain't shooting school buses full of terrorists or running in the jungle covered in camo or mud. But, just watching them talk on screen is going to have the kid in me tear up and that will be enough.

So, sorry Scott Pilgrim fans ... Expendables get the W from me...

But, if Machete was coming out this weekend too... I'd have to go see Eat, Pray, Love. F&%k It!

RIM's Attempt To Torch The Competition

Long before RIM and ATT announced the latest addition to the Blackberry family, popular Blackberry websites were able to leak and show off images of the latest Blackberry. Unlike previous Blackberries which sport a great keyboard and a 2.5" screen, the Blackberry Torch takes a new approach by being the first sliding Blackberry. Coming exclusively to ATT, the Blackberry Torch 9800 retains it's great keyboard, newly popular trackpad (that replaced the problematic trackball) and adds a Blackberry Storm like touchscreen into the mix. Though this new form factor may be enough to make the Blackberry feel fresh, the REAL change comes in the form of RIM's latest operating system: OS6.

Hearing the many cries of it's consumers and the threats of jumping ship to the iPhone or various Android devices, RIM has taken it's first stab at taking their OS into a more consumer friendly direction as well as remedying the problems that has plagued it's older OSes. Though the UI will feel very familiar to Blackberry users, there are new additions that will help make things easier and less cumbersome. For example, the application switcher is no longer a long bar for users to scroll through but rather a grid of icons. The homescreen has been tweaked (for the better) as it has different views for applications which can be activated by sliding the bottom tray up. These views include Favorites, Frequent, All, Media, and Downloads. The biggest change comes in the form of RIM implementing Webkit into the OS as Blackberry users truly despise RIM's current browser. Webkit looks to alleviate previous problems as well as speed up the rendering of webpages and HTML filled emails.

Disappointment seems to loom when hardware specs for Blackberry devices are discussed and the Torch is no different. In a world where 1 GHz SnapDragon processors exist and gigabytes of application memory play a role in the size of applications developers create, RIM plays it safe by giving the Torch a 624 MHz and 512 MB of application memory. Good news is though, these low end specs seem to help retain it's reputation of having some of the best battery efficient smartphones on the planet.

With Apple cutting into RIM's smartphone dominance and Android finding a home on various devices, RIM is ready to put on the boxing gloves and throw down. With an August 12th release date, the only question left to ask is: Are you a fan yet?

The marketing machine that is Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World has got me interested in the movie when I didn't care about it at all.  Now with this interactive trailer, I'm excited to see it!  There's something you have to respect about a campaign that recognizes and caters to its audience.  I'm ready to see the movie because everything leading up to it is dope.  Check out the interactive trailer and let us know...
